Investigations in progress
Acrocomia Solutions is collaborating in the realization of diverse investigations in alliance with the Agrarian Sciences Foundation of Itapúa (FUCAI) and the Agrarian Sciences Faculty of Hohenau, Paraguay. Currently, the focus of these works are oriented towards acquiring knowledge and experience in the domestication of Acrocomia aculeata Jacq.
Among these investigations are
1. The development of propagation methodologies of Acrocomia spp. from the seeds and tissues.
2. The development of optimal methodologies in the management of "mbokaya" plantlets in greenhouses.
3. Identification of the fertilizer requirements of Acrocomia spp. in view of optimizing production.
4. Determination of the selection and collection criteria for palm propagation material or mother populations with superior genetic characteristics.
5. Determination of optimal densities and best cultivation techniques in Acrocomia spp. plantations.
6. Production of mesocarp (pulp) flour from the "mbokaya" fruit.
7. Evalution of the utilization of fresh fruits, leaves and pellets derived from Acrocomia spp for animal feed.
8. Evaluation of carbon content, energy and the ecology of the cultivation of Acrocomia spp.
9. Development and evaluation of alternative harvesting technologies of the fruit of Acrocomia spp.
